Founded in 1890, MIYATA is a large and multifaceted company (having made bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, rifles and fire extinguishers.) In the 1970s. Miyata licensed the Eddy Merckx bicycle brand. It partner with Dutch Koga into the 1990s. It has served as a vendor to many bicycle brands.
Miyata team bicycles were the first Japanese made-and-equipped bicycles to “hang tight” in the European Pro peloton.
