TABUCHI TIRE COMPANY
“The British owned Tabuchi Tyre Co (of East Sheen in South London) was one of the main importers of exotic Continental cycle equipment into Britain prior to World War 2.
“Tabuchi imported these Italian made alloy brakes that were marked with their Italian sounding “Ambra Superga“, their marketing name, usually followed by “Fastest on Earth”. (Were they made by Universal in Italy?)”
“Here are a good used pair of these alloy brake mechanisms, these were really exotic in 1937 and would have only been fitted to top-of-the-range British sporting machines. Note the leaf springs that hold the arms apart, The Tabbuchi catalogue shows these up until 1937, from 1938 the same brake is shown with normal round section wire springs.”
