CYCLES MERCIER, FRANCE LOIRE

     Rue de Gutenberg, not far from the centre of St Etienne until the company went into liquidation in the mid-80s.  "Cycles Mercier France-Loires" continued carrying the brand "Mercier" after bankruptcy in the mid-80's.
     Currently it forms part of the Accell Group and produces bicycles in a place called "Andrezieux Boutheon" very much near St Etienne.
The Mercier brand has also reappeared on mail-order Chinese-made  bikes in the USA, apparently as a result of a licensing arrangement.
